Basic responsibilities

1. Monitoring the enforcement of regulations related to production, distribution and storage of medicinal, cosmetic, sanitary and food products

2. Primary evaluation of applications for the establishment of centers for production and distribution of medicinal, cosmetic, sanitary and food products

3. Supervising the implementation of standards and regulations on the use of additives, preservatives and packaging materials in manufacturing

4. Supervising the performance of producers and distributors of medicinal, cosmetic, and sanitary products, as well as food and drinks in the province

5. Supervising reference laboratories which test sanitary, medicinal and food products

6. Ensuring the adequacy of drug supplies to meet the needs of treatment units in the province at any given time

7. Supervising drug preservation methods

8. Supervising the processes for storage and delivery of drugs in pharmacies and controlling the quality of medicines
